Path download failure if using DFS path as where client PCs download patch

Hi,

I am wondering if anyone from  LANdesk community facing this kind of problem. If you would share the similar experience and fixes with me, I would be much appreciate.

Some of my XP clients are not able to download the security patches, either via scheduled task or default scheduled security scan which runs at certain time interval. Same goes when I login to the machine and manually run a security scan.

From the LDMS console> Security Patch and information> clean and repair, I can see there are lots of error, "Install (Patch download failure)".
Running a security scan manually gives the same error, "failed: could not download  <my DFS path>". Errror code, 412.
The patches are actually exist in patch repository.

Note: I am instructing my clients to download the patches from a DFS path (a single namespace which auto-route my clients to the nearest servers set in the DFS to download the patches). Set in "Web URL or UNC path where clietns access patches".

I tested, if I login to the affected client and in Windows Explorer, open the patch repository to initiate the connection, then run the security scan. Doing this way, the patch will be downloaded successful. They will be installed successfully.
I do not see such issue happens to my Windows 7 clients. It happens mainly to XP clients.

Does anyone see the same issue? I am using LDMS 9.5.

Thanks.
