I am working on getting a new MAC lab up and running; all Mac clients use OSX 10.8 and now have LDMS 9.5 Mac agents installed with the Dec2012 Mac patch.
I am attempting to break-in the patch and compliance functionality on these Mac Agents by updating the client o/s from 10.8.2 to 10.8.4 using the June combo update provided by Apple.
I'm currious as to whether PM is any good on the Mac side. Anyone using PM with Macs to actually do any work?
Looking at Patch Manager from within the LDMS console I am able to see an Important/High patch called OSXUpdCombo10.8.4.dmg. Opening it up the Detection Rules show the item with N/A under Download. If I right-click the DOWNLOAD PATCH option is unavailable as it is with other definitions. I realize that sometimes PM doesn't allow direct download of the patches so I have downloaded OSXUpdCombo10.8.4.dmg from Apple and placed it in the Landesk patch folder on the core. This doesn't change the status of the rule.
I am wondering, is it even possible to apply an Apple OS update using PM?
