Patch and compliance scan now reports: Unable to get custom variable overrides

Environment

LANDESK Management Suite 9.5

Issue

• Running a Patch and compliance scan now from the Management Console on a managed node reports: Unable to get custom variable overrides
• Vulscan.log on the managed node shows the following error message:

          Applying scan and repair settings

            Done

          Failed to load custom variable overrides

            Failed

Solution

1. Go the the Agent Settings window in your Management Console
2. Expand All agent settings
3. Select Custom variables to override
4. Click on Create Task Icon
5. Click Change Settings
6. Give the task the name "Remove Custom Variables"
7. Select Create a scheduled task
8. Change the settings of Type (Custom variables) to "Remove Settings"
9. Click Ok
10. Go to scheduled tasks and add a device and run the task
11. Re-scan the device
