How to report LANDesk Patch Manager vulnerability detection problems to technical support

Problem

Vulnerability "a" has been installed on my computer, but Patch Manager still shows it has vulnerable for the computer. OR Vulnerability "b" needs to be installed on the computer but Patch Manager doesn't show it as vulnerable.

 

 

Resolution

First review the following document to make sure you understand what is going on with the detection:

Please obtain or verify the following information.

 

  1. The computer has rebooted.
  2. The patch was actually installed. You can find this by checking the following.
    1. Open the LANDesk Management Suite Console.
    2. Expand Devices and click on All Devices.
    3. Find the computer in questions.
    4. Right click on the computer and select Security and Patch Information.
    5. Highlight Installed Patches.
    6. Verify the Vulnerability in question is listed.
  3. Run a security Scan on the computer.
  4. Obtain the latest Vulscan.log from the computer.
    This can be located at: 
    • Windows XP, server 2003. 
      • C:\Document and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Vulscan.
    • Windows Vista. 
      • C:\Program Data\Vulscan.
