Client user does not have administrator rights to run vulscan error

This error is exhibited by running vulscan under a limited user and you get this error.

 

"Client user does not have administrator rights to run vulscan error"

 

If you go under the administrative user vulscan will run fine.

 

To resolve this issue under the limited user first check to see if the LANDESK Management Agent shows up in services. If it doesn't show up, follow these steps to resolve.

 

Open cmd

run this command

runas /user:(admin user) "C:\Program Files\LANDesk\Shared Files\residentagent.exe /register" adjust for 64 bit with Program Files (x86)

It will prompt you for your password.

After you have run that command, check to make sure the LANDESK Management Agent service is in the services list. (Don't forget to refresh the view if it was already open.)

Next start the service by running this command.

runas /user:(admin user) "net start cba8"

It will prompt you for your password again.

 

Vulscan should run now.
