Application Monitor
In case the end user finds that an application does not work as expected, the end user can report the broken application to IT.
The main value of this new feature is that for every reported application, the admin can see which patches that were deployed to this end user have a direct or indirect impact on the broken application. This information allows admin to detect “misbehaving” patches soon after they were deployed
New Agent Setting
We have added a new tab in Distribution and Patch agent setting named User Feedback.
New Tray Icon and Notification
Deploying this new setting will add a tray icon to every endpoint. In addition, every time a new patch is installed a notification will be shown to the user explaining that a patch is installed and in case an application breaks the user should report it. This notification will be shown once per vulscan run.
2 new reports were added to the Patch and Compliance section on the console
Broken application report:
This report shows all the applications reported by users as broken including all the required metadata. Right click on each broken application allows admins to see all the patches that are related to the broken app – i.e. the list of patches that we know for sure have a direct or indirect impact on the application the user complained about. There is a good chance those patches caused the application to break.
Admin can rollback those patches and stop their deployment in case it is validated that those patches caused the problem.
Reported Broken Patches:
This report shows all the patches that had a direct or indirect impact on the reported broken applications. This is a different way to view the information reported by the end user. This view focuses on patches that should be investigated as those may cause applications to break. Per each patch, the admin can view all the applications that are broken because of the selected patch.
